I am Giuseppe D'Aurelio, I am Italian and graduated with a BA in foreign languages in 2000. I specialised in translation and linguistics. My thesis concerned the language of advertising and the translation of text from international campaigns. My skills with English and Swedish are good, thanks to courses and various experiences abroad. I attended a post-graduate course in Business English and I had a scholarship to study in Sweden.

I have regularly acted as a freelance translator with agencies and private customers for more than 6 years. This experience has helped me to develop good translation, localization and proofreading skills. I worked for several for projects related to industrial, medical, mechanical, technical, medical, legal, business, marketing, chemical  and general texts. I use a licensed version of Wordfast, compatible with Trados, which has no TM limits.

I am also a teacher both for online and "real" schools. I have worked for an Italian company specialised in online English courses for adult and professional students. As well, I am an Italian teacher for an International School for Foreign Students. I organise courses for students working at local factories. My students enjoy the lessons: they learn without feeling too stressed. I can take online vocal lessons, thanks to a great dsl connection.

Education

- Master in Business English, organized by the European School of Management in Newcastle upon Tyne, with certification A.S.E.T., accomplished in January 2002. The Master has provided skills on the composition and comprehension of commercial texts and has concerned the main issues on marketing and communication;

- Degree in Foreign Languages, at the Istituto Universitario Orientale in Naples accomplished in June 2000 with full marks and honours. My thesis concerns the language of advertising and the translation of advertisements belonging to multinational campaigns, and its title is "Translation aspects of advertising. Analysis of English and Italian texts from a translation perspective";

- Scholarship at the Stockholms Universitet in Stockholm for 4 months, granted by the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs with the co-operation of the Svenska Institutet (Swedish Institutet);

- Secondary High School Certificate at the Language School "Liceo Linguistico Gesù e Maria" in Termoli (CB), accomplished in July /1995, final mark: 56/60 ;

- I like travelling in Italy and abroad and when I visit new places I always try to get in touch with the local culture and habits;

- I like reading contemporary and classic authors;

- I regularly practice running and take part to local competitions and marathons;
